Wordpress plugins are a great way to increase the search engine optimization of your site, make your life simpler and change the appearance of your site.

For SEO purposes:

1. All-in-One SEO Pack — the classic WP plugin that helps with SEO with things like tags, post/page titles, metatags, and what not.
2. Google XML Sitemaps — This plugin creates a sitemap for your site. It will list all of the posts and pages on  your site, or if  you want, you can tell it to specifically exclude certain posts or pages of your site (if you want to hide them from the search engines). Then, when you make changes, it automatically updates and sends the updated sitemap to Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.  You will never worry that your page won’t get indexed again.
3. Robots Meta — The plugin creates the robots meta tag, which will tell all of the bots for the various search engines what links to follow and whether or not to index certain pages or links.  Do you really want google to index and send some of your linkjuice to  your admin/login page? Of course not. Also, you can prevent google from following links to duplicate content.  A single post might appear in several places, like author archives, date archives and category archives, and with this you can tell Google to not follow those links. This will prevent duplicate content and will also keep linkjuice where you want it.
4. SEO Slugs — You could do this on your own, but it will help you save time.  It takes out “fluff” words out of your post URLs (words like “of” and “the”), as these don’t help in searches and can actually potentially hurt you.
5. Yoast Breadcrumbs — Yoast makes a ton of great plugins.  In this one, it creates a simple backtrail from the page that you are on. So, if you are on a post, it will provide a link at the top of your link to the home page.  This helps make sites more crawlable by the search engines.
6. SEO Friendly Images — This will automatically add alt and title tags to your images to help with your SEO.

Other useful Plugins:

1. Contact Form 7 — Allows for autmoatic creation of a contact page for your blog. Your website should have a contact page as it can look shady if you don’t.
2. Easy Privacy Policy — Allows for automatic creation of a privacy page.  It helps you improve the appearance of your website, and tells your visitors that you care about their privacy.  In addition, if you use google adsense, this plugin will add in the required privacy information that is set by Google.
3. Sociable — You automatically add shortcuts at the ends of pages and/or posts so your visitors can vote for your site on Digg, Propeller, and the other top social bookmarking sites.

Many people use Wordpress for helping with search engine optimization?

Why?

(1)  Straight “out-of-the-box” a Wordpress blog is very SEO friendly. The posting format creates pages with good looking header tags.  Adding widgets with things like recent posts, tags, etc., increases the number of clickable links with your keywords in them, so Google thinks your page is highly relevant for your keywords.

(2) Wordpress is very easy to make even more SEO optimized, with plugins and themes. In addition, you can go in and change the code if you want to even make changes yourself.   Wordpress pages are structured around php and css, and can be changed relatively easy.

(3) You can set it up so each post or page in your Wordpress blog has a very SEO-friendly URL. If you are targeting “easter egg hunt”, you can have the post URL set as http:/www.yoursite.com/easter-egg-hunt.  This helps a lot in getting high in the search engine rankings.

(4) Once you set up your WordPress blog the way you like it, it basically runs itself.  When you want to create a new topic or keyword friendly post, you just add a new post, and hit “publish” and it posts it for you.  You don’t need to know any html or create new webpages or anything else.

WordPress is  is the most widely used blogging platform in the world.

You have two hosting options with wordpress.

First, you can host your blog free, by creating your blog at http://www.wordpress.com.

Second, and the preferred method, is to create your own wordpress blog on your domain.  Once you have created a domain and you have it hosted. it is very easy to install wordpress.

The Wordpress platform is free.  It is very easy to install WordPress, and can be done in less than a minute.  From your cpanel on your web host, you can either use Simple Scripts or Fantastico to have the latest version of Wordpress installed wherever you want.

You can have it installed in your main domain, you can have it added to a subdomain, you can have it installed in a folder, whatever you want.

If your host doesn’t allow for this easy installation, you just need to download the wordpress platform from wordpress.org, upload the zipped wordpress folder to your domain via ftp, and then unzip the folder.

WordPress has evolved from a simple blogging platform.  With the thousands of plugins, and themes (basically skins for your webpage to make it unique), you can customize your blog anyway you want, and can make your blog look like any other website.  In web-speak, you can use Wordpress as a CMS, or “Content Management System.”

Online affiliate marketing, where a person sends customers to an internet merchant sales page and reaps a commission on any resulting sales, has been growing rapidly in recent years. Also growing are the number of programs promising to turn new affiliates into wealthy affiliates. Lots of these training programs and products promise the earth and tempt you with promises of a lifestyle beyond your wildest dreams. One program that continues to grow in popular is Wealthy Affiliate. However, is there a Wealthy Affiliate scam?

How can you tell when you are in scam territory? For starters, avoid long sales pages full of headlines and highlights, which feature the fabulous houses and sleek cars that could be yours if you buy the product. This style of presentation should warn you that the product may not be all it’s cracked up to be. What you should look for instead is a professionally presented sales page that clearly sets out what is on offer and how you can benefit.

Read any testimonials very carefully. Do they ring true with you? Are there plenty of them? When you read them you should not feel that the website owner has just got his friends and family to come up with a few favourable lines. They should read like the comments of people who have really experienced what they are writing about.

Look for some solid facts. A solid program will be able to show you posts from its private forum detailing the successes members have had in implementing the techniques taught by the particular program. These posts should include actual figures to help you get a sense of the amount of money you should be able to make if you join the program.

A program that is not a scam will not promise instant results. Instead it should offer to take you by the hand and give you all the tools you need to build a sound internet marketing business. If the experts heading the program are at pains to point out that marketing success will come only after a lot of hard work and use of the right techniques, then you can be pretty sure you are being offered something solid and effective.

Then look carefully at the small print. What exactly is being offered? You should look for a comprehensive training package, a range of tools and resources to save you time, a good affiliate program for the package itself, the chance of personal coaching and an active private forum. If there are other bonuses such as website hosting and help with website building, then you are probably onto a very good program indeed.

Armed with this advice you should be able to find a program that will help you become a successful and very wealthy affiliate and avoid misleading schemes that do not deliver. The good news is that Wealthy Affiliate meets all this criteria, and it is concluded that there is no Wealthy Affiliate scam. However, it is important that you continue to research a program before joining.

In addition to these there is a module for keyword research but as I use Market Samurai, I haven’t touched this functionality.

Article Directory Nuke –
26 article directories are included, including EzineArticles, GoArticles, USFreeads (only works if you have a premium membership), Articles Base, Articles Alley and Hubpages. Allows you to insert the standard spinning nomenclature ({, |, etc.) to spin your articles. One additional useful function is that it has a “randomurl” function, where you can insert a set number (up to you) of urls from random articles that you have submitted through SENuke before. So, you can put at the end of each article something like “Please check out some of my other articles: A, B, C, D.” and then SENuke will randomly put in links to your other articles. So, each new article you put through will help increase the backlinks to your previous articles.

Video Nuke: I haven’t used it yet, but going to put together my first video tomorrow It works with YouTube + 10 other video sites. Allows you to spin the title, description and tags. Looks to be pretty sweet.

Social Bookmarking Sites: Includes 24 sites, including Digg, Mixx, Jumptags and lots of others. Lately my jumptags have been getting indexed by Google in about 2 minutes which is pretty funny. They recommend that you create many profiles at each of the sites. You could create, say, 20 different profiles. That way, each time you submit a new URL for bookmarking, SENuke randomly picks one of your 20 profiles. That way you can try to stay under the radar (especially with Digg and other sites like that). In addition, as with other social bookmarking software, it probably makes sense to bookmark other sites, like current news, to mix up your footprint.

RSS Feed Nuke –

They allow you to submit your RSS Fees to 18 feed sites (including the biggest ones). This can be any RSS Feed, whether its an RSS feed from your landing page blog, to an article feed, to a social bookmarking feed, etc. They have functionality so that you can limit the number of RSS feeds to submit to each site (they recommend 2 max at a time), so that you don’t get temp banned at the feed sites. But with 18 sites, you can obviously spready your feeds out.

Web 2.0 Profile Nuke -

This is not listed on the sales page I don’t think. It is very much along the lines of Angela’s and PJ’s backlink packets. They currently have it setup with something like 490 sites (actually a very good percentage of high PR sites, IMO). However, some of them have gotten somewhat annoyed at the nuking, so they have revolted. Even then, I would still say that it is easy to get upwards of 200+ profile backlinks easily through this Web 2.0 profile nuke. A new update to SENuke is coming out on Sept 28th, that I think will clean this up a bit and take out some of the ones that aren’t working. In any event, it is an awesome nuke.

This particular nuke though obviously takes a lot of time to run (create profiles, put your sigs up, etc.). So, it is something that is usually best to run and leave for a couple of hours or so. You can’t do other stuff on your computer while it is running.

**SENuke also has its own built in “Captcha” solving program. I find that it works greater than 95% of the time for all of the accounts other than the Web 2.0 profile accounts. For that, SENuke requires that you at least sign up for a service with a Captcha solving place (there are 2). Those cost like 7 cents per captcha. However, even for the Web 2.0 profile account setup, you could just sign up for the 1000 captchas for $7 with one of the service providers, but than disable the automated captcha solving, so then you can manually type them in and not pay anything more than the $7. That being said, for those that decide to pay the SENuke monthly price, it would probably also make sense to pay these captcha solving services, at least it does for me.

Then, finally, they have a built in pinger. It allows you to ping any site you want (inputted), and SENuke also saves all of the URLs for all of the articles, profiles, bookmarks, etc. that you have created, so you can simply cut and paste those in to the pinger and go.

With SENuke you can build backlinks quite quickly and enormously

Lets take your Ezine Article. If you solely wanted to build backlinks back to it, I might try this:

(1) write an article on a similar topic, with a backlink back to your Ezine article.

(2) spin that new article and submit it to all of the article directories, with a link back to your Ezine article

(3) social bookmark both your original article and each of your new articles;

(4) create a short voice over video on the same topic, with a link in the video description back to your Ezine Article (note, you could also bookmark and profile link the videos also, to get them into good rankings themselves);

(5) create profile links back to your Ezine article and any other article you want ranked;

(6) submit all of the RSS feeds created to the RSS feed nuke;

(7) ping everything.

As you can see, it creates a snowball effect, with a an every expanding group of links. This is why SENuke is great to not only get backlinks back to your one article, but also to spin that article into new articles and also spin a video into other videos, and get all of those ranked well in Google. As they say, dominate the rankings.

One note: I am a firm believer that if you are only doing something like Angela’s packets, you really don’t have to worry about adding in the links gradually. But, with the sheer force and number of the links you are creating here with SENuke, I think that caution should be at the forefront.

They recommend that you don’t do more than one nuke module per day (for each article, video, etc…obviously if they are different URLs than its not an issue), and if you are looking for long-term prosperity, waiting a few days between nuke modules may be best.

Edit: I forgot to state the obvious, which is, that this thing saves an exponential amount of time. You could literally do something in 4 hours in SENuke that would take you a week to do.

At some point in our Internet lives, a majority of us have received a message from an autoresponder.  It could have been a short response letting you know that the individual is away, or an email thanking you for something that you have done.  Perhaps it was even an email letting you know about upcoming products, or even an email letting you know that a message you tried to send couldn’t be delivered.

Each one of these messages is all but a different version of a useful program known as an autoresponder.  Autoresponders are very useful tools, as they will automatically send out an answer to any email that they receive.  The answer that they send out however, will all depend on the messages that you have the program set up with.  Autoresponders are very flexible, and most will hold a variety of pre set messages.

The very first autoresponders were used with email providers or email transfer agents.  Whenever an email you sent out couldn’t be delivered to the recipient, it would send you an automatic response letting you know that your mail couldn’t be delivered.  Although these programs were somewhat helpful, they weren’t all that sophisticated.

Over the years, autoresponders have changed quite a bit, proving to be very useful with big companies and even Internet marketing.  These days, autoresponders are used by businesses and companies to give immediate response and feedback to interested clients and subscribers.  This could include a response about programs, information about pricing, specific details regarding a product, and even a time that someone from the company can get in touch with the client.

In the world of Internet marketing, staying in touch with clients is easier than ever with an autoresponder.  They will save you a quite a bit of time, especially when you think about how long it would take you to personally send email responses to each and every email you get.  If you run a business, you probably get hundreds of emails a day.  An autoresponder can simplify your life, by sending out a preset message response to each and every email you receive.

You can set up an autoresponder using either one or two methods – an outsourced ASP model and server side model.  When using an outsourced ASP model, the company wishing to use the autoresponder will their business model will contract through an outside provider.  This outside provider will then give the company user access to a web based system, or control panel.  From the control panel, the company or individual can set up the autoresponder, preset messages, and decide how the autoresponder will handle the many different types of emails. Server side autoresponders are a bit different.  Basically, they are programs that a company or individual installs themselves and runs it on their own computer or server.  You can save money with these programs, as you don’t have to pay a provider to operate the autoresponder.  Although server side autoresponders weren’t user friendly in the beginning, they have become easier and easier to operate over the years – and are now the most popular type of autoresponder.

In all actuality, autoresponders are great to have.  They are very reliable, and can easily save you a lot of time. The way the different types work can be a bit perplexing, although most are easy to use and easy to implement into your website.  If you own or operate an online business – an autoresponder is something you should never find yourself without.

A couple of months ago Terry Kyle put out a WSO for additional backlinks.  I’ve had it for about a month now and have to say it is absolutely great. I am a big fan of Angela Edwards’ and PJ’s backlink packets, also available through the Warrior Special Officer forum. Angela and PJ put out monthly subscriptions for backlinks (30 and 50, respectively).  These are great backlinks, but they are a set number.  I have used and will continue to use Angela and PJ’s stuff.  However, what separate’s Terry’s WSO is that in addition to a list of 750 great backlinks, Terry provides his through process and insight into how to find as many additional backlinks as you want.  The potential number of backlinks you can get yourself is limitless. How does this work?  Terry has identified a number of social networking platforums.  These platforms provide forums or blogging environments where any Joe off the street can set up his own community forum/blog in a matter of minutes.  Well, Terry helps you identify all of the community forums that use the same platform. For instance, in a matter of minutes, my just looking for sites using 1 particular platform, I was able to find 300+ sites (ranging in PR from 1 to 9) that use the platform that allow do-follow backlinks in their profile section.
